#NationalWomensDay: Meet the inspiring practitioners on our team

National Women's Day is a time to celebrate the sacrifices and achievements of women - past and present. At Kellaprince Properties, we are proud to spotlight the leading ladies on our team; their undeniable talent, passion for real estate, and drive to succeed. Every day, they work to ensure that dreams become homes, turn "for sale" into "sold", and make first-time clients lifelong partners. They share their journey, highlights at the company, and advice for women buying property and those looking to join the industry.

Say hello to Ronel, Regina, Charmaine

When Ronel Vorster moved to Mbombela (Nelspruit), she became a property practitioner, drawn to the unlimited earning potential. "I chose to work at Kellaprince Properties because of its excellent reputation in Nelspruit. Our previous experience buying a property with the company also made such a favourable impression," she says.

After working at First National Bank, Regina Bothma made a strategic decision to study real estate and open her own business at a later stage. Well, she made it happen and founded her agency in Sabie 17 years ago. Regina would later join the team at Kellaprince Properties.

Charmaine Kemp says her sister, who worked for an agency in Cape Town, introduced her to the world of property sales. "She encouraged me to join because it allows you to manage your own schedule and determine your income," she says. "Having always aspired to work for Kellaprince Properties, I completed my training and logbook, feeling confident to apply for a position."

Highlights at Kellaprince Properties

For Ronel, a great moment was winning the company's Agent of the Year award after being runner-up for so many years. "It was incredibly satisfying to see all the hard work pay off," she shares. "I will always remember the sheer joy on my kids' faces when I walked through the door with that trophy from the event."

Regina's most memorable and rewarding experience was helping a family find their dream home, even with specific requirements and preferences. "With dedication, expertise, and a deep understanding of their needs, I was able to present them with a property that checked all the boxes and exceeded their expectations," she smiles.

While Charmaine hasn't been part of Kellaprince Properties for long, she finds joy in every day at the company. "I love working with a team who cares and has good belief systems in place that ensures transparent and honest business," she says.

Advice for women starting careers in real estate

Regina encourages career-driven to consider real estate "as it allows them to balance their roles as mothers, wives, and spend quality time with family and friends, all while maintaining a successful career through effective time management."

Also agreeing, Charmaine says finding the right fit will unlock one's potential. "Join a company with training possibilities where you can complete your NQF Level 4 in Real Estate as well as your logbook. After completing your training and exams, join the company you feel meets your needs as an individual."

While Ronel points out there's no "one-size-fits-all path to success", she advises being "part of a network of reliable partners, including banks, bond originators, attorneys, maintenance teams, moving companies, etc., to offer comprehensive services to your clients". She also highlights staying informed, prioritising client needs, and establishing strong relationships based on trust and transparency.

Advice for single women looking to buy property

"Be very disciplined in your search - write down what you need and want so you don't make emotional decisions," says Charmaine. "Security and location should be very high on your list of needs but also ensure you can afford the bond and all the expenses involved without exceeding your budget."

Regina also gives the thumbs up to choosing an ideal location. "Together with this, buying at a competitive price gives you the option to either resell for profit or retain the property as a valuable investment," she says.

Ronel advises potential single women buyers to start with getting a pre-approval from a financial institution. Then, she emphasises the value of working with a reliable property professional. "They can help you pinpoint the perfect property that aligns with your specific needs and preferences. A practitioner will also help you secure the best possible price and use their knowledge to ensure your investment aligns with your long-term goals."

National Women's Day message

Ronel highlights women's innate strength and the way it can exceed even their own perceptions. "We possess the capacity to move ahead with resilience," she says.

Charmaine believes women can be successful in business without losing themselves in the process. "Always stay true to who you are and keep your morals and values intact.  Ensure your current endeavours will be something you can be proud of in the future."

Ending on a heartfelt note, Regina says women should embrace everything that makes them unique as this will give them strength, fulfilment, and meaningful connections in life. "Just be yourself because you are special," she says.

Whether you're looking to buy, sell, or rent, starting your property journey with these inspiring women will be an experience defined by professionalism every step of the way. And if you see yourself thriving in such an empowering environment, you can also join the team at Kellaprince Properties. We wish you a happy National Women's Day and success for the month ahead!
