You've got this: how Kellaprince Properties supports single woman buyers

It's truly a case of sisters doing it for themselves as women rapidly make waves in real estate. This trend has gained significant momentum since 2016, with women now accounting for nearly 50% of the first-time home buyer market. Often single or divorced, women are overcoming the odds as they climb the property ladder. In support, Kellaprince Properties has made it a mission to guide them on their journey says Mark Moore, the real estate agency's Marketing Manager.

The road to homeownership is often steeper for women

As the country celebrates Women's Month, the gains women have made in property should be commended. Women are asserting their financial independence, building generational wealth, or starting their own buy-to-let portfolios. This isn't without its challenges. "Unlike other countries, South African women don't have specific incentives to help them own property," says Moore. "Besides financial constraints, they also face safety concerns and have to navigate the buying process independently."

"They may encounter gender biases and assumptions that add stress to the experience. Balancing work, personal commitments, and the complexities of purchasing a home can also be particularly challenging," he adds.

As partners in property, real estate agencies play an important role in providing the necessary support and guidance these women need. According to Moore, Kellaprince Properties is leading the pack when it comes to helping women break the real estate glass ceiling.

Unlocking opportunities for women in real estate

Since it was established in 1986, Kellaprince Properties has made a name for itself as the go-to real estate agency in Nelspruit (Mbombela). And that title is thanks to the attention paid to providing quality service.

"We recognise the obstacles our clients face and have tailored our offerings to meet their needs," says Moore. "Our agency provides personalised financial advice, exploring various financing options, and connecting single women with trusted mortgage advisors."

"Our predominantly female team offers empathetic and patient guidance, addressing any concerns and simplifying the buying process to make it as stress-free as possible," he also highlights.

The prospect of viewing properties alone can be daunting, with risks ranging from personal safety to property scams. Moore says single women can enjoy peace of mind at all times. "Our agency strives to make single women buyers feel supported and safe throughout the property buying process by providing detailed information about neighbourhood safety, crime rates, and community amenities.

"We ensure our properties are in safe, well-lit areas with strong community support. Our agents accompany clients to property viewings and conduct thorough background checks on properties and sellers.

"We also offer advice on securing homes post-purchase, including recommendations for security systems and local community resources," he says.

Meet the property 'she-roes' on the case

While Kellaprince Properties has tailored its marketing strategies and services to better meet the needs of female buyers, it hasn't discounted the most important aspect - the human connection. "It's easier to turn to someone who can see things through your perspective," says Moore. "Our female real estate agents, who understand the concerns and preferences of single women first-hand, provide an additional layer of trust and support."

At present, five out of six of the real estate agency's residential sales agents are currently women. The team includes Charmaine Kemp, Lindsay Drewes, Ronel Vorster, Yvonne Gouws, and Regina Bothma. "These experienced property practitioners play a crucial role in building trust and rapport," says Moore. "Their personal experiences and deep understanding of the unique challenges women face when buying property allow them to offer relatable, empathetic guidance. This creates a supportive and trusting environment."

Raising the bar on client service

According to Moore, all property practitioners at the company are trained to ensure that female buyers feel confident and well-informed throughout the process.

"They've undergone specialised training programmes that focus on the unique needs and preferences of female buyers," says Moore. "This includes courses on effective communication, financial literacy, safety protocols, and the importance of empathy and patience in the buying process."

"Continuous professional development and industry seminars ensure our real estate agents are always up-to-date with the latest market trends and specific preferences of single women buyers," he adds.

With August placing a focus on women, Moore says Kellaprince Properties will take further stock of its services and resources to ensure it provides the professionalism and compassion needed by its clientele. "With us at your side, you have everything you need to become a homeowner. This is a life-changing decision that can give you the foundation for a brighter future for yourself and your family. Reach out to us and let's make it happen."
